Meet Our Candidate

My name is Michelle Power, and I was born and raised right here in our amazing city. As a lifelong resident of Pelham and a proud educator, I’ve dedicated 28 years to public education—22 of those right here in our local schools, serving the students, families, and community I love.

I’m running for Pelham City Council because I care deeply about this city and believe in its future. With strong roots, a heart for service, and a passion for community, I’m ready to listen, lead, and work hard to ensure Pelham remains a place we’re all proud to call home.

I look forward to connecting with you in the months ahead—thank you for your support!

A Commitment to Community

Pelham is more than just the place I call home—it’s where my story began. As a fifth-generation resident, my connection to this community runs deep. From cheering on the Panthers at Pelham High School to raising my own children in our local schools, I’ve experienced firsthand what makes this city special: strong families, dedicated neighbors, and a shared pride in where we live. For more than two decades, I’ve worked side by side with our educators, families, and students to strengthen Pelham’s future. I’ve coached youth sports, partnered with parents, supported special needs programs, and helped shape classrooms that reflect the best of who we are. Now, I’m ready to take that same spirit of service to the City Council. I believe leadership starts with listening, acting with integrity, and staying connected to the people you represent. As your councilmember, I will be present, approachable, and focused on the issues that matter most to Pelham families—public safety, responsible growth, strong schools, and vibrant neighborhoods. My commitment is simple: to serve this community with the same heart, dedication, and hard work I’ve given throughout my life. Together, we can keep Pelham a place we’re proud to call home—for generations to come.

Proven Leadership Experience

For 28 years, I’ve dedicated my career to education—with 22 of those years proudly serving right here in Pelham. As a classroom teacher, ESL specialist, and now Instructional Specialist for Pelham City Schools, I’ve led with compassion, purpose, and results. I’ve helped shape curriculum, mentored fellow educators, and worked directly with school leadership to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed. My leadership doesn’t stop at the classroom door. I’ve coached cheerleading, supported youth sports, and worked alongside community organizations that invest in our kids and neighborhoods. My husband, Adam, and I have both served in volunteer leadership roles, including his time as Vice President of the Pelham City Schools Foundation. Leadership is about more than holding a title—it’s about showing up, listening well, and delivering on promises. I bring a record of collaboration, accountability, and follow-through that reflects the values Pelham families expect from their leaders. I’m ready to bring that same proven experience and servant leadership to the Pelham City Council—because I believe our city deserves leaders who lead by example and with heart.
